Welcome to Atlanta

Loved Atlanta!  I was able to catch up with another inspiring graphic designer and yogi, Kristen Leigh, who also has a serious case of wanderlust. First stop was General Assembly for a presentation - The Future of: COMMUNITY. Blake Howard, a force behind Creative Mornings and Creative Director at Matchstic, discussed how to create meaningful communities. A great example of community building was Bearings Bike Shop where kids earn a bike of their own through community service or logging shop hours. Shop leaders and neighbors within the community mentor kids as opportunities arise in the shop. The Atlanta location is doing some good stuff too... a recent challenge was to create 48 new website designs pro bono for 48 non profits. You can see the before and afters on the right.
